CYPRES by Airtec is the first microprocessor controlled automatic activation device and meets all needs and wishes of today´s skydivers. The performance is great and the operation is quite simple. Just switch it on in the morning prior to the first jump, then forget it. Cypres will calibrate to ground elevation by measuring the air pressure several times in a short period of time and taking the average value for the ground level. This always provides an accurate calibration which is the basis to recognize the activation circumstances. The microprocessor is capable of real-time calculations of the jumper´s altitude and rate of descent on the basis of barometric pressure. By monitoring this data, Cypres activates when it detects a dangerous situation (rate of descent and low altitude). The release unit cuts the reserve closing loop inside the container to release the pilot chute.
